Drop-bar bikes — road, gravel and cyclocross. The recommended angle ranges are based on drop-bar riding positions, so they do not apply to flat-bar bikes such as hybrids, mountain bikes and commuters.
Take the photo in the app or pick an existing one from your gallery. Having someone else take it, or using a tripod and a timer, is easier than it sounds.
Detection needs to see a whole person from the side. Retake the photo against the points above — most failures are a partly cropped body, an angled view rather than a true side-on one, or a rider who blends into the background.
Automatic detection is not always exact, so every point can be corrected. Open the point editor, then:
Each angle is compared against a fixed recommended range and marked in range or out of range.
| Angle | Range | What it reflects |
|---|---|---|
| Knee | 135–150° | Knee bend at the bottom of the stroke |
| Hip | 80–120° | Hip openness |
| Back | 30–50° | Torso lean relative to horizontal |
| Elbow | 145–175° | Arm bend, a reach and comfort indicator |
| Shoulder | 70–100° | How upright or stretched out you are |
| Foot | 5–20° | Foot angle at the pedal |
Change one thing at a time, take another photo and compare. Small adjustments are easier to judge than large ones, and there is no limit on how many photos you can measure. The knee angle is the one most affected by saddle height: too straight suggests the saddle is high, too bent suggests it is low.
Nothing is stored between sessions — that is deliberate. Each photo is measured on its own and nothing is kept when you leave the app. If you want to keep a result, take a screenshot before closing it.
No. Pose detection runs entirely on your device, and your photos are never sent to our servers — we do not operate any. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
